## About

I left Industrial Civil Engineering in 2021 after I found programming. Three months studying full time, then my first developer job. After that came four years of fintech: [international transfers, savings and investments at MACH](https://bsantos.io/#work), and [Mercado Pago's cash flows for Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Brazil at Mercado Libre](https://bsantos.io/#work). Today I lead the technical agility of an engineering team at Sunix, where I built the [AI agent platform](https://bsantos.io/#projects) that runs sales and support, its MCP server, its CMS and SDK, and the CI/CD behind all of it. I spend my time on agents and MCP tooling because that is where the interesting problems are right now.

## Work Experience

### Nexor AI (Soon) - Where I want to build next

Soon - San Francisco - https://getnexor.ai

Not a job yet, so here is the overlap I see. What I bring: five years shipping, four of them in systems where money moves and a mistake is an incident, plus a year building autonomous agents and MCP tooling from zero. Fintech taught me to ship things that cannot fail quietly, and agents are where I want to apply that next.

### Sunix - Head of Technical Agility

April 2026 - Present - Chile - https://sunix.io

Built the AI agent platform that runs the company's sales and support, integrated into web and WhatsApp, with human on the loop: it works fully automated and hands a case to a person when the case needs it. Developed its skills layer, knowledge bases, integrations, an MCP server with tools scoped by role, and the internal libraries that mount the chat in any application, on top of the Claude, OpenAI and Gemini APIs with embeddings in pgvector. Built the product CMS and its integration SDK. Guided the team on the mobile app from zero to the App Store and Google Play, reviewing its architecture and its code and setting up the signing and release pipeline with React Native and Expo. Implemented the CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions, Husky and Dokploy, and set GitFlow as the team standard. I also lead technology adoption across the team, with training and mentoring, including AI in daily development with Claude Code.

### Mercado Libre - Software Engineer Semi Senior

November 2024 - April 2026 - Chile - https://www.mercadolibre.com

Developed Mercado Pago's money flows for Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Brazil, inside the Cash team. Automated cash-in and cash-out point loading, which went from a week down to 2 to 4 hours, with quality analysis per point, automatic reports and guards against inconsistent data. Took vulnerability management for the team's 40 repositories to an automatic flow: reporting, fixes with Mercado Libre's internal tooling and release to production. Led the restyle of Mercado Pago's cash flows in Brazil.

### MACH - Backend Software Engineer

April 2022 - November 2024 - Chile - https://www.somosmach.com

Built the international transfers system from scratch, with integration to the banking core and to VISA, as microservices in Node.js, TypeScript and MongoDB. Optimized the savings and investment flows, cutting execution times and error rates, and implemented credit card debt payments from inside the app. AWS with SNS, SQS, Lambda and EventBridge.

### Tactech - Fullstack Developer

July 2021 - April 2022 - Chile - https://tactech.cl

Developed the menu and order management microservice for restaurants, including API, frontend and dashboard, and integrated its delivery and payment platforms: Mercado Pago, Uber Eats, Rappi and PedidosYa Envíos. JavaScript, React.js and Node.js.

## Projects

### Sunix AI Agent Platform

2026 to present - TypeScript, Next.js, Hono, PostgreSQL, pgvector, Claude API, Mastra, WhatsApp API, MCP

Platform of AI agents that handle sales and support end to end, on web and WhatsApp, with human on the loop. Skills layer, knowledge bases, integrations, and an MCP server that exposes the whole platform as tools scoped by role, so any MCP client can operate it and the product is not driven only from a dashboard. Built on the Claude, OpenAI and Gemini APIs, with vector search in pgvector.

### Sunix CMS and integration SDK

2026 - TypeScript, Next.js, Payload CMS, Drizzle, PostgreSQL

The product's content management system and the SDK that mounts its chat in any application with a few lines of code.

### NexusTML, industrial maintenance

In production - React Native, Expo, TypeScript, Supabase

Mobile app for industrial maintenance, running in production at a plastics plant. Work orders and corrective requests over multiple assets, preventive plans with their own frequency, execution with critical safety controls (AST and LOTO), time and spare part tracking, photo evidence, and an operations dashboard with MTBF, MTTR and the assets that fail the most. Close to 1,900 work orders and 175 requests handled so far.

### CuidaRed, telemedicine

In production - TypeScript, Next.js, Supabase, PostgreSQL, WhatsApp API

Telemedicine platform in production for a network of health centers. Multi-organization and multi-center agenda with day, week and month views, booking by video, in person or phone against real availability, patient records, a WhatsApp inbox with templates and confirmation tracking, referrals, incidents, billing and reports. The screenshots are anonymized.

## Milestones

### Teaching assistant at Universidad de O'Higgins

March 2019 to July 2021 - Rancagua, Chile

Teaching assistant in Programming, Differential Equations and Physics for engineering students. Teaching it is what got me into writing code.

### I left engineering school for code

2021 - Rancagua, Chile

I found programming and dropped Industrial Civil Engineering. Three months locked in studying full time, then my first developer job at Tactech.

### Four years moving money

2022 to 2026 - Chile

International transfers, savings and investments at MACH. Mercado Pago's cash flows for four countries at Mercado Libre. Systems where a bug costs real money.

### All in on agents

2026 to present - Chile

Leading the technical agility of an engineering team while I build a platform of autonomous agents and the MCP tooling to operate it.

### Next: Nexor AI

Soon - San Francisco

The next turn I am aiming for. Same move as 2021: leave what is comfortable and go where the problems are new.

## Education

- Universidad de O'Higgins - Industrial Civil Engineering (2018 - 2022)

TypeScript, Node.js, Hono, NestJS, React, Next.js, React Native, Expo, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Drizzle, MongoDB, pgvector, Qdrant, AWS, AI Agents, MCP, Claude API, Mastra, Kapso, Payload CMS, WhatsApp API, GitHub Actions, Dokploy

## Contact

I was waiting for this opportunity. I have been following what you build because you are building things that do not exist, and that is the team I want to be in. I am sure enough about it that I am paying for my own ticket to San Francisco to start with the team right away.
